Every woman with curly and wavy hair longs of sleek, straight and shiny hair and want to go for treatments such as Brazilian Keratin and Brazilian Blowout. These treatments will make your hair straight and shiny and will give you the hair that you see in commercial advertisements.

Hair straightening has been around for ages. Initially, the processes and techniques used to straighten your hair but were also very damaging to your hair shafts and roots and the end result used to be straight and sleek but damaged hair. The methods and procedures have become a lot advanced now with least damage to the hair. Below are the different types of hair straightening techniques, you can choose the best one according to your preference.

Japanese Hair Straightening VS Brazilian Keratin Hair Straightening

Both Japanese and Brazilian hair straightening methods can provide you with frizz-free, silky, shiny and smooth hair which remains like this for a few months. The end results of both the treatments are quite similar but they differ in their approaches and after effects.

Japanese Hair Straightening

Japanese Hair Straightening is also called thermal reconditioning. With thermal reconditioning, you can obtain pin straight locks. The Japanese hair straightening is done as:

Step 1: Hair is separated into sections.

Step 2: A chemical is applied on every section of hair (This chemical is known as retexturizer).

Step 3: Each section of hair is straightened using flat-iron.

Step 4: After that your hair is rinsed and blow-dried.

Depending on the fizziness, quality and volume of hair, the process will take 1 to 8 hours. Once you get straight hair via Japanese hair straightening, your hair will remain straight up to 6 months.

Brazilian Keratin Hair Straightening

Brazilian Keratin Treatment focuses on making your hair frizz-free. The main ingredient of Brazilian hair straightening is “keratin”. Keratin is a protein which is naturally found in hair and nails. Here keratin is used to change the natural texture of hair. The Brazilian hair straightening is performed as:

Step 1: Hair is washed and conditioned.

Step 2: Blow drying is done to make your hair completely dry.

Step 3: Keratin and other chemicals are applied on hair and covered with caps. This product left on your hair 20 to 30 minutes.

Step 4: Flat-iron is used to seal the keratin in your hair.

Once this process is done, you will have to leave the hair salon with keratin solution on your hair, and you will be instructed to wash your hair after 3 days of treatment.

Hair Relaxing or Extension

This is another type of hair straightening treatment in which the bonds of the curly hair at broken. A certain number of bonds should be broken to make them completely straight because if they are not broken then the hair will remain curly and the whole process will have to be repeated. For this reason, choose a professional salon and an expert for this purpose because sometimes after hair relaxing, some parts of the hair still remain curly and then the whole process is repeated which can damage hair to a great extent.

The process is the same where a straightening cream is added, then the hair is straightened with not irons and then a neutralizer is applied, but the process takes less time than rebonding.
